The world of Game of Thrones is not just dominated by magic and dragons, but a wide variety of religions. The Kingdoms of Westeros and Essos that we see within Game of Thrones provide us with a large variety of religions. For my research I will be focusing on the religions of Westeros adding just one religion from Essos (Lord of Light) as many in Westeros are followers. The three religions I will discuss are: The Faith of the Seven, The Old Gods of the Forest and the Lord of Light.  I will provide detailed information on each religion within the shows seasons. I will then discuss the similarities and examine any connections to religions today and how they relate to religions in this fictional show.

      I will also have a section about the Author George R.R. Martin, I will discuss his personal religious views and explain why he goes against his own views to use religion in the books/show. We learn his thought on why there can not be Fantasy writing without religion.
